Placement Intelligence

Stop reporting placement after the fact. Start managing it while it's still moveable.

A live dashboard built for two people: the dean who has 60 seconds before a board meeting, and the TPO who needs to know which 23 students are about to fall through.

  • 8 core metrics
  • Department drill-down
  • Anonymised peer benchmark

The dashboard

This is what your dean opens on a Monday.

Switch between the executive scorecard and the placement office's control tower. Sample data for a fictional 480-student batch.

The underlying signal

A single number that says how likely this student is to be placed.

The Placement Readiness Score is a percentage probability that a student secures a relevant offer within 90 days of graduating. It moves — visibly — as they attain outcomes, complete internships, win hackathons and collect endorsements.

What moves it

SignalInfluenceWhat moves it
Outcome attainmentLargest single factorWeighted toward higher-order thinking, so rote performance cannot inflate the score
InternshipsStrongRated internships count for most; a pre-placement offer takes this to full marks immediately
Access tierStrongRises as the student's verified record deepens
Opportunity participationModerateHackathons, competitions, live projects, guest lectures with reflections
Verified skill badgesModerateExternally verified only — nothing self-claimed
EndorsementsModerateFaculty, mentor and corporate endorsements, weighted in that order
Why it matters to you

It is a leading indicator

Your placement rate tells you what happened. The readiness distribution across a batch tells you what is going to happen — while there is still a semester left to change it.

By Year 2, the platform has calibrated the score against your own actual placement outcomes. At that point it stops being a model and becomes a forecast.

The eight metrics in detail

Every metric arrives already interpreted.

Not a chart library. Every metric arrives already interpreted — because a dean reading this before a management committee meeting does not have time to work out what it means.
01

Placement Rate

Share of students placed within 90 days of graduation

68% — up 12% year on year. Your Mechanical department is dragging the number: 23 placed, 11 still searching.

02

Average CTC

Mean gross CTC of placed students

₹6.2L average against a ₹5.8L benchmark for your stream tier. CSE is outperforming by 24%.

03

Role Relevance Score

Share placed in roles that map to their programme outcomes

71% in relevant roles. 29% are in roles that don't map to their COs — flag that for curriculum review.

04

Time-to-Placement

Average days from graduation to first offer

34 days on average, 18 days faster than last year. Early-access internships are converting.

05

PPO Rate

Share receiving pre-placement offers

14% PPO rate against an 8% national average. Three Engagement Partner companies drove 80% of them.

06

Employer Diversity Index

Mix of company types, scored 0–100

Score 62. Heavy IT services concentration — activate MSME and startup listings to diversify.

07

12-Month Retention

Share still employed a year after joining

84% retention, top quartile nationally. Students with high readiness scores retain at 94%.

08

Readiness-to-Placement Correlation

How well the readiness score predicted the actual outcome

Students above 70 placed at 91%. Below 50, at 38%. The model is calibrated.

PPO pipeline

The prestige metric, managed like a sales pipeline.

Pre-placement offers are the number that makes headlines. Udgam builds the structural conditions for them systematically, then makes the whole pipeline visible to your TPO in real time.
  1. Discovery

A company views the profile, adds the student to a watchlist, or meets them through a hackathon.
  2. Engagement

The student applies to that company's internship, or attends its guest lecture and submits a reflection.
  3. Internship active

Selected and in progress. The supervisor submits a mid-point rubric.
  4. Internship completed

Final rubric submitted. A score at or above 4.0 out of 5 is a PPO signal — the TPO is notified.
  5. PPO offered

The company extends a formal offer through the platform, with a validity window.
  6. Accepted or declined

The placement is recorded. Dean's dashboard updates. Attribution is logged.

What the TPO gets

  • A Kanban board of every student–company relationship across all six stages
  • Filters by department, company, year and readiness band
  • Manual drag between stages for anything that happened off-platform
  • A predicted PPO count for the year, from live pipeline plus historical conversion

Impact measurement

Your vice-chancellor will ask how you know it's working. Here is the answer, before the question.

A locked baseline, in month one

Within 30 days of signing, Udgam establishes your baseline across all eight metrics using three years of placement records, your current readiness distribution, your employer relationship inventory and internship participation. It is timestamped and locked. Everything afterwards is measured against it.

A quarterly report, generated automatically

Headline impact against baseline, attributed impact showing which specific activities drove which outcomes, a forecast to year end with the levers to reach it, and your anonymised position against comparable institutions. No manual input from your team.

An attribution model you can defend

A placement counts as Udgam-attributed only if the hiring company is a platform partner and the student engaged with them here, or if the student’s readiness score was 60 or above at the time of placement. Conservative by design.

+8%

placement rate against baseline in a representative first full year

+16%

average CTC movement over the same period

11%

PPO rate, up from 4% at baseline

Q1

the quarter each automated impact report lands, with no effort from your office

The Dean gets an executive view: eight metrics, trend arrows, peer benchmark position. The TPO gets an operational view: pipeline details, at-risk students, company engagement status. It is what makes them say yes.
What the dashboard is for
  • Placements

Not more drives. Better matches. Lasting placements.

  • Internships

Structured, CO-linked, credit-bearing — not informal and forgotten.

  • 10X Faster

Accreditation in a click. Projects in a semester. Placements in a season.
