Talent Discovery

Every other platform matches on keywords. This one matches on how well someone can think.

A job description says Python, SQL, communication. A portal returns everyone who typed those words. Udgam returns the candidates who have demonstrably reached the cognitive level your role actually requires.

  • Cognitive-depth filtering
  • JD translation in one paste
  • Nothing self-declared

The matching gap

Keyword match tells you a candidate has heard of a thing.

It does not tell you whether they can apply it under pressure, analyse where it breaks, evaluate it against an alternative, or create something new with it. Those four are different capabilities — and the difference is exactly what separates a productive hire from an expensive one.
Apply

Can use a known method on a familiar problem. Follows a defined approach reliably.

Typically hired for: IT services roles, execution-heavy work

Analyse

Can break an unfamiliar problem apart, find the causal structure, and identify where an approach fails.

Typically hired for: Product engineering, systems roles

Evaluate

Can judge between competing approaches against criteria, and defend the judgement.

Typically hired for: Senior individual contributors, consulting

Create

Can produce something that did not exist — a design, a method, a working prototype.

Typically hired for: R&D, innovation, founding teams

This is the whole differentiator

Udgam knows which level each student has actually demonstrated, in which subject areas, verified through marked assessments approved by a head of department — not through a self-assessment slider. That is a signal no other talent platform in India can produce, because none of them are connected to the assessment layer.

You don't have to learn anything

Paste the job description you already wrote.

Your recruiters will never write in academic language, and they should not have to. The translation happens on our side.

Derived cognitive profile

Translate a description to see the profile it actually implies.

A demonstration using pre-written mappings and sample candidate counts. The production translation considers more of your description than this and applies its own priority weighting, which you review and adjust before anything is saved.

What the filter returns

From a stream to a shortlist of twelve.

A worked filter — Data Analyst

  • Python at Apply or above240 students
  • Database management at Analyse or above180 students
  • Statistical analysis at Analyse or above142 students
  • All three criteria together89 students
  • Gold or Apex tier34 students
  • With a relevant internship18 students
  • On no other company's shortlist12 students

Recommended: start with these twelve.

What is on a candidate card

  • Institution, programme, year and access tier
  • Top three cognitive strengths, with attainment percentages
  • A radar summary of performance across all six levels
  • Internships completed with supervisor ratings; hackathons with ranks
  • A match score against your specific job description
  • Name shown or anonymised until shortlisting — configurable by plan

Other filters available

  • Open network across every institution, or targeted to named institutions, states, or accreditation grade
  • Year of graduation — current, next, or two years out
  • Verified skill badges and location preference
  • Saved searches with alerts when a new matching student joins

Why the signal is trustworthy

Four things a student cannot fake.

Attainment comes from marked work

Every percentage traces to specific questions on specific assessments, mapped to a cognitive level and approved by a head of department before it counts.

Badges need an external verifier

Faculty, a supervisor, or a platform assessment. Nothing on a profile can be self-claimed.

Endorsements are specific

Not a one-click LinkedIn endorsement. A named person endorsing a named skill at a named level, in a stated context.

Higher levels are weighted, so rote fails

Create-level attainment is worth six times a Remember-level pass. Memorisation cannot lift a profile into your shortlist.

From listing to hire

The whole process, on one platform.

  1. Post the listing

Title, type, stipend, location, minimum tier, eligible streams and application deadline. The platform suggests the competency profile; you confirm.
  2. Udgam reviews it

Every listing is checked within 24 to 48 hours for legitimacy, completeness, non-discriminatory requirements and accurate competency mapping.
  3. It goes live to matched students

Targeted students see it ranked first; all eligible students can still find it. You choose open, targeted, or both.
  4. Applications arrive ranked

Ranked by match score, not by submission time. Shortlist, hold or reject with one click; status updates send automatically.
  1. Interview through the platform

Integrated calendar and video link. No separate scheduling thread.
  2. Select and onboard

The platform generates a structured internship plan — objectives, deliverable schedule, supervisor details.
  3. Rate at mid-point and completion

Two structured rubrics, generated from the role's competency profile. A final score at or above 4.0 flags the candidate as PPO-ready.
  4. Feed the loop

Six months after joining, a short employer survey. That data flows back to the institution's curriculum review — and improves the pool you hire from next year.
24–48h

target review time before a listing goes live, so a requisition never sits in a queue

85%

of listings approved on first submission — the review is a quality gate, not an obstacle

0

cold messages possible to a student who has not applied to you. Anti-spam is structural, not a policy

The recruiter isn’t guessing. They are seeing exactly which students have demonstrated the cognitive level their role requires.
