How companies find you

Your Skill Profile. Not a CV. Not a resume.

A live, verified record of what you have actually done — updated every time you finish something, and visible to every company on the platform.

Skills verified through real activity

Everything on your profile has been confirmed by someone other than you — a professor, a company supervisor, or an assessment you passed. Nothing is self-declared, which is exactly why recruiters trust it.

Projects you completed

Every hackathon you entered, every internship you finished, every competition you placed in, every project you shipped. With what you actually did, not a one-line title.

Endorsements that say something

Not a one-click 'endorsed for Python'. A named professor or supervisor saying what you demonstrated, at what level, in what situation.

Companies on Udgam don’t search CVs. They search skill profiles. Yours will be built from what you’ve done — not just where you studied.

Access levels

The more you do, the earlier companies see you.

There is no application to be seen by better companies. There is just doing more, and having it verified. Here is what each level actually means.
Entry

You're on the map

Complete your profile and you can browse everything, apply to general internships, and start taking skill courses.

Early access

Companies see you before placement season

Do well in your courses and complete one opportunity — anything at all — and you become visible to company recruiters and can apply to hackathons and MSME projects.

Gold access

Companies have been watching you for months

Sustained strong results, real depth in at least two subjects, three completed opportunities with feedback. You get priority placement access and Gold-only hackathons.

Apex access

You may have an offer before final year begins

The top level. Featured nationally, surfaced directly to premium recruiters, eligible for scholarships and the highest-paying listings.

One thing worth knowing: memorising your way up does not work. The system deliberately weights harder thinking — solving something unfamiliar, judging between two approaches, building something new — several times higher than reciting what you were taught. That is what makes companies trust the level when they see it.

What would your Job Readiness Score be?

This is the number companies see first. Drag the sliders to see how quickly it moves once you start doing things.

Drag the sliders. This is a rough illustration, not the real calculation — that also weighs how you are doing in your courses, your verified skills and your endorsements, and it is tuned to your own cohort.

An illustration, not a calculator. Your real score reflects more signals than these three, is weighted differently, and updates the moment any of them change.

What companies are actually looking for

Six levels of thinking. The higher ones are rare — and worth far more.

Every company on Udgam says which level a role needs. Click through them to see what each one looks like, and which jobs require it.

Six levels of thinking

The harder levels count several times more than memorising. That is why you cannot memorise your way into a better access level — and why companies trust it when they see it.

Level 3

Apply

Use a known method on a familiar problem.

What this looks like for you

Given a problem of a type you have seen before, you can pick the right approach and execute it reliably.

Which roles need it

IT services and execution-heavy roles. The largest single category of graduate hiring in India.

Who is looking for you

Not only the companies that visit your campus.

300+

Corporate partners

IT, FMCG, manufacturing, finance

1,200+

MSMEs

Real projects, real problems

Startups

Equity and learning

Early-stage teams hiring for capability

Government / PSU

Structured programmes

Innovation missions and schemes

You don’t have to come from an IIT to be found. You have to show what you can do.

What other students are doing

Three routes that don't go through a placement drive.

MSME project → internship

Took on a precision manufacturer's problem as a semester project. Built something that worked. The manufacturer offered an internship before the project had even been graded.

Engineering student, Nagpur

Case competition → pre-placement offer

Entered a case competition judged by the company that set it. Placed well. Received a pre-placement offer in the third semester, before the placement season opened.

MBA student, Pune

Faculty collaboration → scholarship

Joined a professor's industry consulting engagement as a research assistant. The work led to a funded scholarship and a first co-authored paper.

Science student, Coimbatore

Illustrative journeys showing the routes the platform is built to create. Udgam launches in Q1 2027 — real named student outcomes will be published as they happen.

The obvious question

What does it cost you?

WhatCost
Your account and profileFree, always
Applying to anything — internships, hackathons, projectsFree
Skill courses built by your institution or by UdgamFree at partner institutions
Industry-built skill modules₹199–₹1,499, often subsidised by your institution

  • Companies cannot message you unless you have applied to them. No cold outreach, ever.
  • You can switch off recruiter visibility entirely — and it is respected absolutely.
  • Your marks and grades are never shared with companies.
For seventy-five years, opportunity in India has been decided by institutional brand. A verified record of what you can actually do is the first real alternative to that.
Why this matters
  • Placements

Not more drives. Better matches. Lasting placements.

  • Internships

Structured, CO-linked, credit-bearing — not informal and forgotten.

  • Talent Access

India's verified talent — from Nagpur, Coimbatore, Guwahati, not just IITs.

For students

The things people actually ask.

Does this cost anything?

No. Your account, your profile and applying to anything are free, permanently. Some industry-built skill modules are paid (₹199–₹1,499) and your institution often subsidises those, but nothing that affects your profile or your visibility to companies is behind a payment.

I'm not from a top college. Is this actually for me?

That is the entire point of it. Companies here search skill profiles, not college names — and a profile is built from what you have done and had verified. A student in Nagpur with a completed project, a rated internship and a strong competition placing outranks a student from a famous institution with none of those.

Where do I start if I've never done any of this?

An internship moves your profile further than anything else, so aim for one rated well. If you have limited time, a case competition is the highest return per hour — three to seven days, and it demonstrates judgement, which is the thing employers find hardest to assess and almost no student profile shows.

Can companies see my marks?

No. Companies never see your marks or grades. They see what you have demonstrated, expressed as capability. You can also switch off recruiter visibility entirely and become undiscoverable — including in aggregate searches — and that is respected absolutely.

Will I get spammed by companies?

No. A company cannot message you unless you have applied to them. There is no cold outreach on the platform at all, and your contact details are only shared when you choose to apply to something.

When can I actually join?

The platform opens in Q1 2027. Joining the waitlist now takes your name, college, programme and year, gets you one confirmation email and nothing else until launch — and students at institutions that partner early get access before everyone else.
