What we collect, where it lives, and what you can make us delete.
Udgam is pre-launch, so today this policy covers the details you give us through the forms on this site. It is written to the standard the platform itself will hold when it opens.
Note before launch: this page states Udgam’s data commitments in plain language. It is not yet a lawyer-reviewed policy document. A full policy will be published before the platform goes live in Q1 2027, and will be reviewed against the DPDP Act 2023 and its rules as they are notified.
What we collect
Only what the form asks for.
| What | Why | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|
| Your name and contact details | So we can reply to you about Udgam | Until you ask us to delete them |
| Your institution, company or business details | So the reply is useful rather than generic | Until you ask us to delete them |
| What you told us you want to solve | So the first conversation starts from something real | Until you ask us to delete them |
| Basic, aggregated site analytics | To understand which pages are useful | Aggregated, with no personally identifying data retained |
Our commitments
Six things that are true regardless of what the form said.
- All data is stored in India, and is not transferred outside India without your explicit consent
- We never sell personal data, to anyone, for any purpose
- We do not share your details with a third party — including with the universities or companies described on this site
- We contact you only about Udgam, and only for the reason you wrote to us
- You can ask for your data at any time and receive it in a portable format
- You can ask us to delete it, and we will do so within 30 days
On the platform itself
The commitments that apply once Udgam is live.
These are specified in the product and described in more detail on the platform page. They are stated here so that what you are agreeing to at launch is not a surprise.
Students
- Personal data is shared with a company only when the student applies to that company's listing
- Marks and grades are never shared with companies
- Attainment data reaches recruiters in translated skills form unless the student opts in to more
- Recruiter visibility can be switched off entirely, and is then respected in aggregate searches too
- The complete data package is downloadable at any time
Institutions
- Institutional attainment data is used for benchmarking only in fully anonymised aggregate form
- Raw institutional data is never shared with another institution
- Full export in CSV and Excel at any time
- Exports remain available for two years after a subscription ends
Consent
- Granular consent is collected at registration, per data-use type
- Consent can be withdrawn at any time, for any single use
- Withdrawal triggers a deletion workflow within 30 days for personal data
Want your data removed?
Write to us and say so. You do not need to explain why, and it will not affect anything else.
